Homeopathy Treatment for Children's Health Problems in Hyderabad

Important: Evidence supporting homeopathy for specific health conditions is limited. This information does not replace diagnosis or prescribed treatment. Continue care with your treating physician.

Frequent infections in early childhood usually follow a pattern: a cold returns before the last one has fully cleared, a cough lingers for two or three weeks, and antibiotics are needed several times within the same year. What concerns most parents is not any single illness but this recurring cycle, and the sense that their child catches everything going around the class.

For other parents the concern is development and behaviour rather than infections: a teacher reporting that a child cannot sit still or finish schoolwork, speech that has not developed at the expected pace, tantrums that are hard to manage, fears at bedtime, or bed-wetting that continues well past the age when it usually stops, often leaving a child too embarrassed to mention it.

At our Old Bowenpally clinic, Dr. Ravinder Raju has treated children for more than twenty-five years, and each consultation is built around a detailed account from the parent. The medicines are given as sweet pills, without injections, and are generally well accepted by children. The aim is a child who falls ill less often, sleeps and eats better, and needs fewer visits to the chemist.

Children's Health conditions we treat

Recurrent Cold and Cough

Some children develop a cold every few weeks, and the cough often persists well after the fever has resolved, affecting school attendance and disrupting sleep for the whole family. Rather than treating each episode in isolation, we address the underlying low resistance, aiming for infections that occur less often and clear faster with less medicine.

Common signs

  • Cold every few weeks
  • Cough that lingers for weeks
  • Frequent antibiotics

When to consult: If your child has needed antibiotics three or four times or more in a year, or a cough persists for weeks at a stretch, it is worth examining the immunity behind it rather than treating each episode with another bottle of syrup.

Ear Infections (Otitis Media)

Ear pain usually follows a cold, and a young child who cannot describe the discomfort will cry, tug at the ear and resist lying down. Repeated ear infections are significant because they can affect hearing and speech, so treatment addresses both the current episode and the underlying catarrh tendency that sustains it.

Common signs

  • Ear pain, pulling at the ear
  • Fever, irritability
  • Discharge from the ear

When to consult: See a doctor the same day for severe ear pain, discharge from the ear, or fever with a very unsettled child. Consult us if ear infections continue to recur every few months.

Autism and ADHD

Every child on the autism spectrum, and every child with an attention difficulty, presents differently, and parents are often managing several concerns at once — speech, eye contact, sitting still, sleep, food refusal and meltdowns. We offer supportive care alongside speech therapy, occupational therapy, behaviour therapy and school support, aimed at calmer sleep, improved attention, reduced hyperactivity and greater responsiveness to the people around the child.

Common signs

  • Delayed speech, poor eye contact
  • Hyperactivity, poor attention
  • Repetitive behaviour, sensory issues

When to consult: If speech, eye contact or social response has not developed as expected by around two years, or a teacher repeatedly reports that your child cannot sit through a class, arrange an assessment rather than waiting for the child to outgrow it.

Behavioural Issues

Tantrums, fears, clinginess, anger and anxiety are ordinary parts of childhood until they begin to disrupt the household, affect everyone's sleep and appear in school reports. We ask when the change began, how the child behaves at home compared with outside, and what specifically causes fear, and treat the underlying pattern rather than the isolated complaint.

Common signs

  • Frequent tantrums, stubbornness
  • Fears, nightmares, clinginess
  • Poor concentration at school

When to consult: Consult us if the behaviour is affecting school, sleep or the wellbeing of the family, or if it began after a shock, a loss or a change of school and has not settled since.

Allergies and Skin Problems in Children

Itchy dry patches in the folds of the elbows and knees, hives after a particular food, or sneezing that starts as soon as a fan is switched on: allergic tendency in children commonly presents in more than one form. Treatment addresses the underlying sensitivity, aiming for flares that are fewer and milder rather than years of creams and antihistamines.

Common signs

  • Dry itchy patches from infancy
  • Rash after certain foods
  • Sneezing, wheezing

When to consult: Consult us when a cream no longer controls the flares between episodes, or the itching is disrupting your child's sleep. Go to a hospital immediately if any food causes swelling of the lips or face, or difficulty breathing.

Tonsillitis and Adenoids

Enlarged tonsils and adenoids present as snoring, mouth breathing, restless sleep, a blocked nose and recurrent throat infections, and many families arrive already advised toward surgery. Where an ENT surgeon confirms there is time to wait and watch, homeopathic treatment is aimed at fewer throat infections and easier breathing at night.

Common signs

  • Repeated throat infection
  • Snoring, mouth breathing
  • Advised tonsil surgery

When to consult: If your child snores every night, breathes through the mouth during the day, or has had repeated throat infections and surgery has been suggested, consult us early, while there is still time to try medicines alongside.

Bed-wetting (Enuresis)

Bed-wetting after the age of five is not laziness and not the child's fault; scolding usually makes it worse by adding shame to a child who is already anxious about it. We assess depth of sleep, fears, thirst, family history and any recent changes at home or school, and treat that whole picture rather than simply restricting water at night.

Common signs

  • Wetting the bed most nights
  • Deep sleep, hard to wake
  • Embarrassment, anxiety

When to consult: Consult us if your child is over five and wetting most nights, if a child who was previously dry for months has started again, or if there is burning or pain while passing urine — the latter should be checked first.

Poor Growth and Appetite

A child who refuses food at every meal, remains thin and falls ill frequently is a common source of concern for families, and tonics from the chemist rarely make a lasting difference. We look for the underlying cause — worms, anaemia, repeated infections, constipation or weak digestion — and track weight and height on the growth chart at every visit.

Common signs

  • Refuses food, eats very little
  • Below-average weight or height
  • Frequent illness

When to consult: Consult us if weight or height has stalled on the growth chart, if your child has been losing weight, or if poor eating has continued for months despite your efforts.

How homeopathy approaches this

Children are not small adults. Their immune system is still developing, and during that process they are exposed to crowded classrooms, dust, changing weather and one infection after another. Constitutional homeopathy does not treat each infection in isolation. It considers your child's own pattern — how often illness occurs, what triggers it, how quickly recovery happens, and how the child sleeps, eats and behaves — and treats that underlying tendency so the body needs less outside help over time.

This is why two children with the same tonsillitis rarely receive the same remedy: one flares after every ice cream and sleeps with the mouth open, while another develops a barking night cough after playing in cold air. The same individualised approach applies to behaviour and development, where we ask about pregnancy and birth, developmental milestones, school reports, fears and sleep. None of this replaces your paediatrician's advice. Prescribed antibiotics, nebulisers, anti-epileptic medicines, speech therapy, occupational therapy and school support all continue as advised, and any change to them is made only by that doctor or therapist, after examining your child and reviewing the reports.

What to expect at the clinic

The first consultation takes about thirty to forty minutes, and most of that time is spent listening to your account. We ask about pregnancy and birth, developmental milestones, appetite, sleep, fears, school, and how many illnesses and antibiotic courses there have been in the past year, and we observe how your child behaves during the visit. Please bring the immunisation card, growth chart, blood reports, X-rays, and any ENT, paediatric or therapy assessment notes. The medicines are sweet pills or drops, given without injections, and most children take them readily. Follow-up visits are usually every three to four weeks at first, spaced further apart once the condition settles. Recurring infections tend to improve over a few seasons rather than a few days, and developmental or behavioural progress is typically slower still, so we do not promise a cure or a fixed timeline, and we will say honestly if homeopathy is not the right option for your child. A child with high fever and drowsiness, difficulty breathing, fits, a stiff neck, severe dehydration, or any sudden severe illness needs a hospital immediately, not an appointment.

The clinic is located at Sreenidhi Apartments, Manovikas Nagar, Old Bowenpally, within reach for most Secunderabad parents to visit between school hours. Families bring their children from Tirumalgiri, Trimulgherry, Alwal, Sainikpuri, Kompally and Begumpet, most often referred by a neighbour or relative who has consulted here before.

Children's Health: your questions answered

My child is on antibiotics right now. Can we still start homeopathy?

Yes. Please complete the course exactly as your paediatrician prescribed — stopping partway allows an infection to return, sometimes more resistant. Our medicines can be given alongside, spaced a little apart during the day. The aim is that your child needs such courses less often over time, and any decision to reduce or stop a prescribed medicine remains with your paediatrician.

The ENT doctor has advised tonsil surgery. Should we try homeopathy first?

Ask your ENT surgeon one question: is it safe to wait and observe for a few months? If so, that period is a reasonable window to try treatment aimed at fewer infections and easier breathing at night. If the surgeon reports that the airway is significantly blocked or that sleep apnoea is present, please follow that advice. We cannot guarantee that surgery will be avoided.

Can homeopathy cure autism or ADHD?

No, and any claim of a cure should be treated with caution. What treatment can realistically work toward is calmer sleep, improved attention, reduced hyperactivity, fewer meltdowns and greater responsiveness to the people around your child. It is provided alongside speech therapy, occupational therapy, behaviour therapy and school support, never as a replacement for them, and never in place of medicines a specialist has prescribed.

Should we stop vaccinations while my child is under homeopathic treatment?

No. Please continue the immunisation schedule your paediatrician has provided, as it protects against diseases you do not want your child exposed to. Our medicines do not interfere with vaccines. If there is fever or irritability after a vaccination, mention it at the next visit, and please bring the immunisation card so we can review the record.

My son is eight and still wets the bed. Is something wrong with him?

Usually nothing is wrong in the way parents fear. Bladder control matures at different ages, and deep sleep, anxiety, a new school or a new sibling at home can all delay it. We first rule out urinary infection and other physical causes, then treat the child's own pattern. Please avoid scolding or shaming the child, as this reliably makes bed-wetting worse.

My daughter eats almost nothing and is underweight. Do you give a tonic?

We do not offer a bottled tonic. We first look for an underlying cause, such as worms, anaemia, repeated infections, constipation or weak digestion, and will recommend basic blood tests through your paediatrician if these have not already been done. The remedy is selected based on your child's own pattern of appetite, thirst, sleep and mood, and weight and height are recorded at every visit.

The doctor explains things clearly and offers treatment that focuses on the cause and symptoms. I was dealing with chronic allergies and skin issues, and after following the treatment plan I have seen a significant improvement. He gives each patient enough time and attention, which is rare these days.
